The 'Faerie Glen' goes to press

17th April 2013
After months of planning and preparation - imagining the storyline, choosing and editing images, writing the narrative in verse, designing layouts, selecting the colours and textures for the endpapers and wibalin, proofreading .... and lots, lots more - ‘The Faerie Glen: Part Two of The Journey’ finally hit the printing press on 9th April.

Once again the team at Gomer in Llandysul allowed Hilary and Tracey to go down and watch the cover and pages being printed and to see them literally ‘hot off the press’.

The thrill of seeing our books being printed never fades, and it feels a real privilege to be present as they come to life. At first the layout seems confusing: huge sheets with multiple verses and images that are bright and colourful, but everything appears to be upside down and in the wrong order - a little worrying the first time we saw it to say the least! It’s not until the folding, cutting and collation take place that the pages appear in the correct order and the story unfolds.

We leave everything in the very capable hands of the guys and girls at Gomer as we head home through the stunning Welsh countryside to plan and prepare for the launch of the book on 25th May at Burway Books in Church Stretton. Burway Books
